Hi my name is Mila and I am a fine art photographer who specializes in maternity, newborns, children and families.
Happy Monday! I am so excited to share the very first week of Memory Keeping Monday with you guys! As a photographer and a mama, memory keeping is a huge passion of mine in addition to photography of course, but photography and memory keeping go hand in hand. When i work on each session with a family, I try to capture your little ones true smiles and giggles, I try to capture the curious look on their face when they see something for the first time or when they are using their imaginations in one of my setups. Do you know what especially tugs at my heart? The way that little ones look at their mama, and the way their mama looks back at them. Both are each others everything, truly each others world! This is the look, the memory, the feeling that I want to capture in images and hope that generations from now. Our grand kids and great grand kids will feel the love that their mom and dad had for you and vice versa all through an image, because that and memories is what we are left with. That is why memory keeping is so important IMO and true memory keeping, not just say cheese and smile kids, while yes it is super cute to see your kids smile in pictures. It doesn’t tell the whole story of who your child is and what they liked and who they were at this age. This is where memory keeping comes into play, there are so many different versions of memory keeping and so many different things you can do, you just have to find what works for you ❤️ So, grab a cup of coffee / tea and come join me at 8:15am today to discuss a few different ways of memory keeping. I will be live on IG stories as well to discuss and answer any questions ✨
Today we are talking about…tadadada….printing images 🖨. There are two different types of pictures to print IMO. The first being images that you get from your professional photographer. These images IMO should not be printed at a box store. They should be printed from your photographer to make sure that you get the highest quality prints that you can; this also ensures that the colors are true to what your photographer edited them to be. We spend hours & hours editing (well at least I do) images and when we see that big box stores turn them orange, green, or even yellow it stings a little haha. For real though you chose your photographer based on their style (or at least most of why you choose them) and you want the images, you get back and print to look like that. Next, there are the pictures that we take on our phones, selfies, a cute moment of our little ones. These images are 150% okay to print wherever you like, most likely you will not be hanging these up or giving them out as gifts (all though you may if they are super cute), I chose to buy a small picture printer. It only prints up to a 4 x 6 print, but you can print multiple 2 x 3 copies on one sheet. This way is so much easier for me when i have an extra minute (which does not happen too often, let’s get real), I can print the image I want when I want, put it in my journal, jot down a sentence or two about it and move on and feel great about it. If I had to go to the store, I would probably wait until I had a bulk order. Then print them, at that point, I would get overwhelmed with the number of images I need to journal about and also may forget what I wanted to say about them (this can be avoided by journaling first and then just putting the image down) and most likely not do it. The printer I chose was a #canonselphy (visit my stories to take a peak of it later today). It is under $100, and you can get it at @target, @amazon, etc. I have had it for a week and have loved it so far, this tool is invaluable to me for memory keeping and will help me stay on track! I hope this helped answer some questions on printing, what you should be printing and where. Drop any questions you have below or as always feel free to message me 😘 Also if you have an image printer at home let us know in the comments which one you have and if you love it.
